Frequently Asked Questions

Subscriptions + Configurations

Q: What is a Subscription?
A: The Subscription is about setting up payment so you get your fantastic MetricsGeeks reports. Stripe is our credit card processor and manages the Checkout page. Any promo code should be entered on the Stripe Checkout page.

Q: What is a Configuration?
A: A Configuration is how you connect MetricsGeeks to the Google Analytics accounts and properties you have access to. MetricsGeeks uses will connect to your Google Account and ask you to grant us permission to download data for Google Analytics. A how-to video is available here.

Q: Does MetricsGeeks work with invoices?
A: Yes, we do require an annual term to qualify for invoicing.

Q: How many Configurations do I get for each Subscription?
A: Only one Configuration is allowed for a Subscription. If you need access to more Google Analytics accounts or properties, please have your Configured Google account email added as an authorized user in Google Analytics admin.

Email Reports

Q: What is included in each report?
A: Each report contains 4 sections: headline, summary, trend chart, and dimension breakdown. The Headline is a single-sentence summary of important changes. The Summary is a paragraph that provides an overview of changes for the metric you selected with the dimensions you choose, rendered in mostly non-technical language. The Dimension Breakdown is a set of 5 bullet points that highlight changes specific to the dimensions you selected and should help guide you on where to investigate further.

Q: How long does it take on-demand reports (delivered `now`) to arrive in recipient email?
A: In most cases the report will arrive in less than 5 minutes. If the services we use are slow or there are issues with your email provider it can take up to 20 minutes but that should be rare.

Q: What is the difference between on-demand, daily and weekly reports?
A: The reports have similar output. The difference is they cover different time ranges.

Metrics and Statistics

Q: What is a moving average?
A: A moving average takes the average of all the metric values for a given period. For example, a 30 day moving average calculates the average of the prior 30 days of activity.

What is a standard deviation?
A: Standard deviation measures the dispersion of data relative to its mean. Basically how spread out the values are for a given metric. If the results for a time period are outside +/- minus one standard deviation we consider that a significant change.

AI

Q: What data is the AI model getting access to?
A: The data our AI analyzes is the last 60 days of data from the Google Analytics or Ads account you grant access to and only for the metrics and dimensions you select. No other data is sent to the AI analyst for evaluation.

Data Privacy

Q: Is any personally identifiable data consumed from my Google Account or Google data sources?
A: Never ever ever. Nope. Negative. Nein. No personally identifiable data is ever consumed. We only retrieve summarized data from your marketing tools, Google Analytics or Google Ads. We will never ask for authorization for Google Account or other personal data.
